Personality:

Elathea's personality was cemented by different experiences while growing up. As a child, she was liberally exposed to various activities that roused her imaginative curiosity, having been provided the rare gift of freedom of exploration. That freedom was stunted later on after a childhood tragedy befell on her that took her parents and 'imprisoned' her in her grandmother's care. The freedom she took for granted was then limited severely. In addition, the tragedy made both recluse and socially-awkward with strangers. Her curiosity wasn't diminished by far however, but the limitations set around her did make her calculative and secretive instead. These traits she developed then proved to be useful during her jobs and missions, utilizing feigned innocence, deceit and manipulation to acquire and gather information. She can (appears to) be shy and stutter around people she's not familiar with, but she would remain observant of her surroundings. She is naturally untrusting of everyone, and would put on a facade until she identifies the real motives of that person. She shows mercy most of the times, especially when it involved hurting someone else. But anything relating to the incident to her childhood would make her revert back to a state of aggressiveness that loses any semblance of mercy for anyone.

She's always serious and hard-working about the things she would do, especially one's that's related to her getting better with illusions. She's short-tempered and would easily get irritated and annoyed when someone else would tease her. She would be distant and try her best not to get close emotionally with people, always putting on a facade. But when she's faced with the people she trust with whole-heartedly, she would be frank with her emotions. Growing up now under her grandmother's household, she learned to be independent and responsible. However, when she's with people she's comfortable with, she tends to act childish and spoiled, craving kindness and warmth from people.

Her weaknesses are close counter combat and information exposure about her. Anything related to her parents is a touchy subject that would usually arouse a reaction and hostile engagement with her. Her power in illusions is still at a beginner level, seeing as she has only been teaching herself independently so far.

Her strengths include deceit and pretension. She could easily play the klutz, and simultaneously remain on her guard while acquiring the necessary information. She may appear to be meek and a little bit wary, but would be brave at critical times, especially during missions and jobs. Her curiosity opened opportunities for her to travel.

History: 

Growing up in the city of Iadlain, Elathea was born to two dark elves: Caelum and Cassiopeia Byrne. Caelum and Cassiopeia raised Elathea with the gift of wonder, showering her daily life with curiosity, discovery, and exploration despite the city they lived in. On one fateful exploration trip out of Iadlain to Reluir, however, they were ambushed by who she thought were rogue thieves. Caelum did his best to protect the family, but failed to protect them in the end. He hid Elathea in an effort to save her, and enchanted her with an altered reality to separate her from the brutal happening. But after the enchantment wore off, Elathea was able to get a glimpse of one of the thieves altering his father's mind with illusions. The familiar way the victim would look upon the enchantment, made the hairs in her arms rise. The thief left, but not after he smiled at Elathea and gave a wave goodbye. There was but only a peculiar butterfly (only to disappear later on-part of an illusion) that scarred her of the incident. She tried to quickly go to her dad, only to find her father in a horrible mental state, and her mother dead beside him.

Elathea tried to snap her dad back to normalcy, but any effort to break through was futile. Their return back to the city of Iadlain was greeted by her grandmother, who awaited them after hearing the death of her daughter. Her grandmother brought her back to her mother's hometown, Reluir, to live under the protection of the Rumina household with her. 

Elathea wanted to bring her father with him, but her grandmother took great lengths to prevent such thing happening, resulting to her lying to Elathea. Misinforming her that Caelum would heal better and faster in Iadlain rather than in Reluir. But, when she tried to come back for him one day, he was nowhere to be found in Iadlain. At their old home in Iadlain, she was faced with an empty room and once again the sight of that illusion of a butterfly. She assumed then that maybe the incident with the 'rogue thieves' is now connected with her father's disappearance from Iadlain.

With the love of illusions already fostered in her heart from the beginning, she decided to pursue becoming an Enchanter solely for her father, wanting to return him back to his previous mental state as well as finding him. Despite being cultivated in the Rumina household, where impeccable manners and proper etiquette were her exclusive duties, she still continued to pursue her studies in Illusion independently. Acquiring jobs that allowed her to test her abilities, she did information acquisition and gathering from pertinent people and places. Going around to search for a mentor to acquire more experience with her ability. Hoping to one day lead her to information that would finally shed some light in the incident that happened when she was a child, and to finally find her father.

Additional info:

    ·        She has white freckles that powder along her skin making it look like the stars in the dark sky.

    ·        Her father is an Enchanter who is an Astronomer. He lived a life below the middle-income class, that's why Ela's mother side is not in good terms with her father.

    ·        Her mother lived as a healer and a collector of herbal medicines and the likes.

    ·        She tends to like people who don't ask too much personal questions. And would likely stick with those set of people, rather than find another group she'd be uncomfortable with.

    ·        Her abilities for now is that of a beginner since she never really had any formal training.

    ·        Her father tried to teach her when she was young, but all of that was somehow tucked into her memories ever since the incident.

    ·        She somehow saw a one of the 'thieves' and knew one of them could do Illusions as well.
